Venue: Camden Assembly, Chalk Farm, London
Nearest Tube Station: Chalk Farm (Northern Line)
The Macclesfield trio descended on the capital in the middle of their spring tour. Playing my hometown of Brighton the night before I was excited to see them live, I’d been following them for a couple of months and thoroughly enjoyed the material I’d heard.
Camden Assembly is an intimate venue where I once saw Tom Odell play and it’s heavily lit stage with a backdrop of lightbulbs makes it impossible to not be engrossed by the act on stage. Cassia are a band with songs that will stay in your head for days, the boys catchy riffs, relatable lyrics and onstage energy remind me a lot of Little Comets. The bands chemistry was clear to see and that being said the atmosphere created was reciprocated by the audience.
When ‘Weekender’ arrived towards the end of their set I was happy to finally get to hear a previous track of the week feature by GARMS&GiGS live. Other tracks like ‘Moana’. ‘Paradise Beach’ and ‘100 Times Over’ as previously mentioned will stick in your head for days if listened to. I highly recommend you listen to this band ,with their summer sound and sure fire enthusiasm you’ll be sure to humming their tunes after a couple of listens.
